I love everything to do with patterns, color, and shape, both in nature and our own design. I also truly believe the space you’re in drives your mood, relationships, and lifestyle choices, and can be elevated through simple but impactful changes. As I gain new insight and techniques, I find joy in sharing this knowledge with the world, helping others to use design to find better harmony and balance in their life.
I grew up with an eclectic family of artists on one side and engineers on the other. This blend of left and right brain thinking has led me to a very yin and yang understanding. While I seek order, and tend to analyze and look for patterns and solutions in the world, I’ve learned to balance this need with free-flowing ideas and compositions, which brings a very positive energy to a space. I feel a connection to nature and the environment, spurred by years of camping, hiking, and countless beach days, and try to impart sustainability and conservationism into my ideas and designs as well. I continue to spend time researching various religions, cultures, and styles, and find that my electric interests and connections allow me to create a unique sense of harmony in my environment and of that around me.
What I do
At work
When I’m not reading design blogs and magazines, watching HGTV, practicing the KonMarie method, or researching Feng Shui, I’m busy putting that analytical mind to work in the geographic field of mapping and data analysis – GIS. It perfectly blends my love of patterns and creativity, finding solutions, and connecting people and the environment.
At play
On my days off, you might find me playing a round of disc golf, painting, crafting with my little ones, reading, doing yoga, or adventuring to a town nearby to check out the parks or antique shops. Finding time for family get-togethers (LOTS of nieces and nephews around!) and learning more about my ancestry is at the top of my list too.
Any other time
Catch me with 10 minutes on hand, and I might be scrolling social media for design inspiration, watching youtube construction videos, or listening in on historical Viking podcasts with my husband. There’s no telling! Regardless of the activity, I’m always seeking new ways to destress and find balance in my life. And of course, will be sharing anything I learn with you all!
